Athlete spotlight: Anyika Onuora

Athlete Career Transition (ACT) would like to give a huge shout out to Anyika Onuora as the former track and field athlete moves ahead in her career after professional sport.

Following her transition out of athletics with ACT, the Olympian is now a People Advisory Consultant at professional services multinational, EY. The highly decorated former sprinter is also a public speaker and author.

Competing over various sprint distances for 18 years, Anyika Onuora became a four-time British Champion, won three Commonwealth Games titles and five medals at European level, including two gold, one silver and two bronze.


Buoyed by a third place finish in the 2015 World Championships, Anyika joined the best of the best at the 2016 Olympic finals in Rio where she claimed bronze.


Beyond athletics, Anyika holds a 2.1 Economics degree from Liverpool John Moores University, and has done extensive work for positive social impact.


Anyika co-led a global campaign to eradicate Malaria with renowned figures such as David Beckham and Andy Murray. She actively contributed to the Athlete Advisory Group for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and served as a mentor in the Athlete to Business Scheme, showcasing her commitment to empowering others.


Anyika also hosted the podcast 'Hidden Greatness,' sharing inspiring stories and uplifting others.
