OVERVIEW

Now that professional athletes, from all sports, are retiring from their sporting lives with little knowledge or understanding of the skills they have built up over years of elite competition, ACT have developed a comprehensive transition program for athletes at all stages of their career and beyond. Enabling them to successfully transfer those skills into the most appropriate business environments for them.

Many elite professional athletes, enter this new phase of their life often with no qualifications, no experience and no guidance for the future. As a result, ACT completely focus on fully preparing elite athletes for their transition into life after sport delivering huge internal and external value to their business partners.

The earlier an athlete prepares for ‘Life after Sport’ the smoother the transition is likely to be, however ACT passionately believes that it’s never too late for an athlete to work on their transition, and have guided athletes in the very early stages of their sports career all the way through to those who have been retired from sport for a considerable length of time.

OUR TEAM

The Management Group consists of George, Andy and Steve Moore pooling together their experience and knowledge of International professional sport and Senior High level management.

GEORGE MOORE

Chairman

George was formerly president of a multi-national packaging company with a turnover in excess of 800 million and responsibilities extending throughout Europe and Asia.

Under his guidance the business flourished in strategic markets with major European and Global brands such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi Cola, Britvic, Glaxo Smithkline (Lucozade, Robinsons) Nestle, Danona, Carlsberg and Stella Artois to become market leaders. During this period of intense growth George was responsible for multi-million Euro acquisitions in the UK and in Southern Europe, establishing a leading position for the business in Europe.

Using his considerable experience at boardroom level and his understanding of corporate leadership qualities, George is responsible for co-ordinating the strategic future development of ACT.

After retiring from a 12 year professional sports career, as a rugby union International, Steve became a successful entrepreneur working predominantly in the e-commerce and sportswear space as the founder of online rugby retail company just4rugby. Steve also created sportswear brand, just4sport, working successfully in the Middle East and Eastern Europe in particular.

In 2011 however Steve decided on a change in direction and together with his brother Andy founded Athlete Career Transition (ACT) with the intention of building a ground breaking career transition program for retiring elite athletes.

Having personally experienced the ups and downs of his own transition Steve is passionate about creating the smoothest transition possible from sport into business for today’s elite athletes and is responsible for overseeing ACT’s athlete assessment and profiling process as well as the development of ACT’s Business relationships. He works closely with both Athletes and Business Partners ensuring that the career development programs that ACT create are structured, meaningful and valuable for both the athlete and the Business Partner.
